Campus Access and Safety

Board Policy BP 3515.1, Campus Access and Safety, requires parents/guardians to check in through the district’s visitor management system (Raptor) to accompany their child to the designated morning drop-off area or escort them to their classroom. 

When You’re on Campus 

You must check in if you are:

  • Walking your child to the morning drop-off area.
  • Escorting your child to their classroom.

Please adhere to the following instructions:

  • Please go directly to and from drop-off areas or classrooms.
  • Parents/guardians must leave campus by the first bell.
  • While on campus, all visitors must follow school safety rules and staff directions.

To save time, we recommend downloading the Raptor App before coming to school. 

The app allows you to: 

  • Pre-register your information
  • Get a QR code for faster check-in
  • Receive your visitor badge more quickly

How to Pre-Register 

  1. Open the invitation sent to you by text or email.
  2. Follow the steps to verify your identity. 
  3. Accept the invitation for the visit or event. 

First-time users: After downloading the app, you may need to click the invitation link again. Your visitor pass will appear under “My Events” in the app. 

Checking In at School 

When you arrive: 

  1. Go to the front office or self-service kiosk. 
  2. Open your QR code (from the Raptor app or your email). 
  3. Scan the code at the kiosk. 
  4. If you pre-verified, your badge will print right away. 
  5. If not, you’ll be asked to verify at the kiosk. Please bring a valid ID just in case. 

McMillin Campus Access

  • School begins at 8 a.m., daily for TK
  • School begins at 8:15 a.m., daily for Kindergarten - 6th Grade
  • Students should not arrive earlier than 7:45 a.m., and early arrivals can either participate in the breakfast program or attend run club.
  • Any parent and guardian wishing to accompany a student to breakfast must sign in at the front office using the Raptor system, and sign out upon exiting.
  • At the 5 minute bell, all parents or guardians must exit campus.
    • TK parents/guardians must exit campus by 7:55 a.m.
    • Kindergarten - 6th Grade parents/guardians must exit campus by 8:10 a.m.
